Text messages
Your phone number is optional, and texting is off until you turn it on. In your profile, under Texts and reminders, there are two separate tick boxes — one for reminders about things you RSVP’d to or bought, and one for occasional highlights from Meetsy. Both start unticked, and agreeing to one never signs you up for the other.
Consent is not a condition of using Meetsy or of buying a ticket. Reply STOP to any message to stop them immediately and permanently, START to undo that, or HELP for help. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply.
We never sell your phone number and never share it with anyone for their own marketing. Full detail, including sample messages, is on our text messages page at meetsyapp.com/sms.
The short version
We collect what we need to run Meetsy and nothing we do not. We do not sell your data and we do not use advertising trackers. We do use Google Analytics to see how the site is used, and it sets a cookie in your browser.
What we collect
When you make an account: your email address, name, the handle you choose, and optionally your city, a short bio, a photo or avatar, and a phone number if you want friends to find you by contact.
When you use Meetsy: the events you save, RSVP to or buy tickets for, your reward points and check-ins, communities you join and messages you send in them, reviews you write, and designs you make.
When you buy a ticket: your order and ticket records. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us — we only see that a payment succeeded.
When you visit: a page-view record with the page, an anonymous visitor id stored in your browser, the country your request came from, whether you are on mobile or desktop, and the external site that referred you. Bots are filtered out. The same visits are also reported to Google Analytics, which sets its own cookie so Google can tell a returning browser from a new one. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site using Google's browser add-on.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of companies to run Meetsy, and only share what each one needs: Supabase (accounts, database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments and subscriptions), Resend (ticket and sign-in emails), Anthropic (the AI flyer designer — your description of your event is sent to generate a design), GIPHY (GIF search), Unsplash (stock photos), Google (Analytics) and Apple's iTunes search (music previews).
Hosts see the guest list for their own event — name and avatar of who is coming, and the email on a ticket order so they can contact you about their event.
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Account information is kept while your account exists. Order, ticket and payment records are kept where we are required to keep them for tax and accounting.
Page-view analytics is kept in an aggregated form and is not linked to your account.
Your choices
You can edit or remove most of your information from your profile at any time, including your photo, bio, city and phone number.
You can ask for a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@meetsyapp.com. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your data, and we will honour those requests.
You can turn on two-factor authentication from your profile for extra account security.
Children
Meetsy is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Individual events may set higher age limits.
